Claire has a wealth of racing experience having worked for Jonjo O’Neill, she spent time in New Zealand working for Balmoral Bloodstock Agent and Inter island horse transport Company. Claire then returned to England to train over 50 Winners Point to Pointing and Hunter Chasing before going under rules as a permit trainer.

 

Claire decided to take the next step and obtained her full training licence, with some nice promising young horses coming through. Unfortunately, December that year Claire had a fall resulting in spinal damage but after a quiet few months and a good team around her, she is determined to pick up where she left.

Claire treats all her horses as individuals giving them the specific training required for success on the racecourse.  She has big plans and ambitions for the future with a very much hands on approach.

 

Higher Sminhays Farm is over 300 acres so it provides numerous places to work the horses. There are excellent bridleways, woodlands and quiet roads to give the horses variety with plenty of steady hill work for toning up the muscles.
